Episode 1: Barry's 50th appearance (6 as chair). 'Ad-Lib Poem' played for the 25th time.
Episode 2: 'Missed Hits' is played for the first time.
Episode 3: Colin's 25th appearance. 'Sounds Familiar' and 'Misleading Advice' are played for the first time.
Episode 4: Tim makes a joke about Barry being tight-fisted. Humph complains about Colin's piano playing.
Episode 5: Humph mentions a scorer 'sharpening her pen'. Denise Coffey's first appearance, the 10th different panellist. Two rounds of 'Mornington Crescent' are played.
Episode 7: Barry's 50th appearance as a panellist, 50th consecutive as well. 'Mornington Crescent' is played twice, with amateurs from the audience taking part. Graeme and Barry give Tim and Willie the subject of 'ITV2' in the 'Blues' round.
Episode 8: 'Connection Quiz' is played for the first time since s06e04. Colin Sell equals Dave Lee's record of 30 appearances on piano. Only 23 minutes of this episode exist, it cuts off before 'Late Arrivals'.
Episode 9: 'Sound Charades' is played for the 25th time. The first time 9 games were played in an episode since s02e01.
Episode 10: 'Tell Me the Time' is the 75th different game played.

'Missed Hits' is a tribute to the 1970's.
Two rounds of 'Mornington Crescent' are played.
The first episode with 10 games played.

A Pro/Celebrity Special version of Mornington Crescent was played. The Special Guest joined Humph, but was not introduced. Humph explained The Parallel Transfer Rule – Any team that gets 2 positions ahead of their opponents can transfer to a corresponding position on a parallel route without losing a turn.
​
The first round was played so the special guest could get used to the rules. During the second round Willie go to Mornington Crescent before the guest got to join in. Humph then apologised to 'Sir Alec'.
​
The BBC received complaints that Sir Alec didn't get to join in!

25 February 1980 - Yes Minister is broadcast for the first time. Co-written by Jonathan Lynn and featuring an appearance from Graeme Garden.
