Episode 1: The first show without Barry since s10e02. John Junkin's first appearance since Christmas 1979. Willie predicts a memorial service for himself in 1996. Humph claims this is the last time they can play 'Mornington Crescent' as there are plans to sell the station to the US.
Episode 2: Samantha's 10th appearance.
Episode 3: 'Strange Bed Fellows' is played for the first time since s10e05. The French version of 'Mornington Crescent' was played: 'Mornington Croissant'. The 50th time the game is played. 'Ad-Lib Poem' is played for the 50th time. 
Episode 4: 'Noises Off' is used in 'Sound Charades'.  'Misleading Advice' is played for the first time since s09e02. 
Episode 5: Stephen Fry makes his debut, the 14th different panellist. Humph and Tim surpass Graeme's appearances total of 116.
Episode 6: Barry and Stephen sing a 'Calypso' during the 'Blues' round. Willie uses the second (soft) recognisable swear word (arseholes). A variation of 'Hype' called 'Blurb' was played where the teams have to describe a book in over-hyped terms. Matthew Scott's 10th appearance.
Episode 7: 125th episode. 'What a Carry On' is played, but still being called 'Pick Up Song'. 
Episode 8: 'Late Arrivals' is played for the 125th time. Willie claims that Japan has Banzai Lumberjacks. 
Episode 9: Barry claims the book used in 'Sound Charades' is also a takeaway meal. Stephen warns the listeners about his singing.
Episode 10: Paul Mayhew-Archer's 50th show as producer.

The first series since Series 1 where Graeme and Barry haven't appeared in an episode together.

Humph and Tim finish the series with 122 appearances each, surpassing Graeme who has made 116.  Barry has made 114, 6 as host.

 

'Late Arrivals' is played in all 10 episodes, 'Ad-Lib Poem' is played in 6.

After Episode 1 had finished BBC Announcer, Carol Bolt, corrected one of the moves that had been made in 'Mornington Crescent'.  A week later, after Episode 2, BBC Announcer Susan Rae revealed that Carol Bolt was a keen player of the game and had played for her school.  She had also been selected to represent Britain at the World Championships in 1980.  After Episode 3 Carol confirmed this and advised that people should join the Amateur Players' Association and that the address for them was not the one it used to be.

Paul Mayhew-Archer produced this, his last episode.

The first Christmas Special first since 1980.

The classic line-up is reunited for the first time since s12e06.  

 

Tim suggests that Barry would do anything for an OBE. Barry received an OBE in 2001, and Tim received his in 2011.

Barry does his Nelson and a half bottle of Optrex joke.

'Mornington Crescent' isn't played as the station is closed at Christmas.

During the singing round one team sing a 'Blues', the other sings a 'Christmas Carol'.

'Pudding on the Lips' is the 125th different game played during the decade.
